What is Addition?

- You can use your fingers or objects to count.
Counting On
- Start at the bigger number.
- Then count on the smaller number.
- Example: 6 + 3. Start at 6. Count on 3: 7, 8, 9.
- The answer is 9.
Number Bonds to 10
- Number bonds are pairs that add up to 10.
- 1 + 9 = 10. 2 + 8 = 10. 3 + 7 = 10.
- 4 + 6 = 10. 5 + 5 = 10.
- Learning these helps you add faster.
