Using Full Stops

End a statement with a full stop.

End of a sentence

  • A full stop shows a sentence is finished.
  • It looks like a small dot: .

Only one idea

  • Put a full stop at the end of one idea.
  • Then start a new sentence.

Examples

Example 1

  1. Text: I like cats
  2. Add a full stop: I like cats.
  3. The sentence is now complete.

Example 2

  1. Text: I like cats I like dogs
  2. Fix: I like cats. I like dogs.
  3. Two sentences need two full stops.
