Saying What You Think

Share your opinion simply and clearly.

Use I think

  • Start with “I think” to share your view.
  • Example: “I think the film is good.”

Give a reason

  • Say why you think it.
  • Example: “I think it is good because it is funny.”

Examples

Example 1

  1. Question: “Do you like pizza?”
  2. Answer: “I think pizza is nice.”
  3. You can add: “I like the cheese.”

Example 2

  1. Question: “What is your favourite game?”
  2. Answer: “I think football is my favourite.”
  3. You can add: “I like running.”

Activities

  • Learner: Tell your helper what you think about a food you like or do not like. Give a reason.
    Helper: Ask the learner: “What food do you like or not like?” Encourage them to start with “I think” and give a reason.
  • Learner: Tell your helper what you think about a game or activity. Give a reason.
    Helper: Ask the learner: “What game do you like?” Encourage them to say “I think” and why.
  • Learner: Ask your helper what they think about the same thing.
    Helper: After the learner shares their view, ask them to ask you the same question. Answer it and show turn-taking.
