Look in a text to find an answer.

Look for key words

  • Read the question.
  • Look for the same word in the text.

Find the answer

  • Read the words around the key word.
  • Choose the answer from the text.

  1. Text: “Mia walks to the shop.”
  2. Question: Where does Mia walk?
  3. Answer: The shop.

Example 2

  1. Text: “The bus leaves at nine.”
  2. Question: When does the bus leave?
  3. Answer: At nine.

Practice Questions

  • Text: “Tom has a blue bike.” What colour is the bike?
    Answer: blue
    The text says the bike is blue.
  • Text: “Sara eats toast for breakfast.” What does Sara eat?
    Answer: toast
    The text says Sara eats toast.
  • Text: “The class starts at ten.” When does class start?
    Answer: ten
    The time in the text is ten.
  • Text: “A cat sleeps on the chair.” Where does the cat sleep?
